DID YOU KNOW………There has been a lot of legislation introduced over the last few years to restrict voters access to casting ballots by mail and other restrictions. The Voting Rights Lab tracks these bills for us. It's a great tool for keeping up to date with legislation related to voting. Please consider signing up for emails from them.
On Monday, March 4. they were tracking 1,615 bills so far this session across 43 states and D.C., with 286 bills that restrict voter access or election administration and 816 bills that improve voter access or election administration. The rest are neutral, mixed, or unclear in their impact.
Arizona: H.B. 2547, 2852, 2404, 2876, 2765
NY introduced an amendment to allow voter registration up to and on election day.
VA: H.B. 1330, 989, 943 and S.B. 605
MI: H.B. 4594, 4534
MS: H.B 1609, S.b 2579
WY: H.B 5623
WY: S.B 97
FL: S.B 7050
There is much more. Please check out The Voting Rights Lab and use one of the many sites to find the text of these bills. While none of the legislation is from GA, we know what one state does, usually the not good thing, others will file copycat legislation.
